Chad has been a Company Member of Will Geer’s Theatricum Botanicum since 2002, a theater known for its rich cultural history and commitment to socially relevant, thought-provoking productions. Founded in 1973 by Will Geer, an iconic actor and advocate for social change, Theatricum has featured the talents of many influential figures, including Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, as part of its programming and ongoing commitment to social justice, folk music, and the American theater.

Over the years, Chad has performed in numerous mainstage productions at Theatricum, with his performances earning acclaim from Los Angeles Times critics, including his “full-blooded portrayal” of Count Dracula and his “remarkable physicality” and “command of the role” as Shakespeare’s Richard III.

Chad has also been an integral part of many creative teams on various productions. Producing Artistic Director Ellen Geer has praised him as ‘a leader within the theater’s diverse community of professional artists.’ As co-directors, Ellen and Chad’s production of Macbeth was highlighted by the LA Times for its ambitious scope and dynamic, physical staging.

In addition, Chad is an esteemed educator, mentoring students and other instructors through the Theatricum’s School Days and Classroom Enrichment programs. He also created, developed, and led Musical Theatre: The Classics, a program for teen performers that connects them to the history of the art form while introducing professional techniques inspired by the work of David Craig.

As part of Theatricum’s Professional Repertory Education and Performance Program (P.R.E.P.P.), Chad has served as a mentor, educator, and director, working closely with artists to foster both artistic growth and professional development.

In the summer of 2025, Chad will co-direct The Seagull: Malibu, an evocative reimagining of Anton Chekhov’s timeless masterpiece, alongside Ellen Geer.

His expertise in performance, direction, and arts education continues to enrich the theater’s diverse artistic and educational programming, and he remains committed to its artistic and educational missions.
